What is nvm?

nvm is an app for messages you typed and never sent. You write the message, then either keep it in a private vault or release it as an anonymous card that other people can read.

Is nvm anonymous?

Released cards carry no name, no handle and no profile. The only label is optional and deliberately vague, like "to: you" or "to: mom". An account is required, but it is never shown on a card.

Why does nvm need an account if it is anonymous?

The account exists so releases can be limited to one a day on the free tier. Without that limit one person could flood the public feed. The account is never attached to a card.

Is nvm free?

Writing and keeping are free and always will be. nvm+ costs $3.99 a month or $29.99 a year and lifts the daily release limit, adds card styles, story export, voice and vault search. It cannot buy placement in today or this week.

What happens when I destroy an nvm?

The text is erased immediately, from your vault and from the public feed. There is no trash and no undo.

Can other people see what I keep?

No. A kept nvm is shown to nobody else and never appears in the public feed. Releasing is a separate, deliberate action that asks twice.

How does voting work in nvm?

You read one card at a time and swipe: right means send it, left means don't send. The swipe is the whole vote. Nothing is ranked publicly and no card shows a position.

Is nvm a diary, a journal or a therapy app?

No. nvm is not therapy, not a diary and not a dating app. It is for one specific thing: the message you typed and did not send — which is as often funny, petty or kind as it is sad.
